Jan. 3, 2001 STAFF REPORT Mike Krebs of Cortez was the winner of the weekly National Football League contest. Krebs and several others missed five but Krebs was the closest to guess the score for the tiebreaker. Krebs wins a $50 check from the Cortez Journal. A message was left on his answering machine Wednesday morning, but he could not be reached for comment. Upsets, upsets and more upsets caused the local prognosticators to not guess the winning teams. It definitely was a tough week to try and pick winners. For instance, Dallas shocked San Francisco, Denver nipped Oakland, Washington beat New Orleans, Kansas City edged Jacksonville, and Cleveland beat Tennessee.
