Dec. 8, 2001 STAFF REPORT Chet Bankert of Cortez is the latest winner of the Cortez Journal’s National Football League weekly contest. "I will probably buy a lot of beer (with his $50 check) for next weekend’s games," he said when reached by phone Friday morning. He said he probably won’t use it for Christmas shopping. Bankert, who won the contest a year ago, said he is a professional football fan. "I watch a lot of football. My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. I bet not many people picked Dallas to win. I also picked Miami to beat Denver. A lot of people around here pick Denver," he said. Bankert missed three along with Wanda Graves and George Mockry. However, Bankert almost guessed the exact tiebreaker score between Green Bay and Jacksonville. He guessed Green Bay 27, Jacksonville 24. The actual score was Green Bay 28, Jacksonville 21. Many people missed four. Another contest will appear in Tuesday’s paper.
