Dolores High School landed two players on the First Team and one on the Second Team and honorable mention Team of the Class AA San Juan Basin League Volleyball All-Conference lists as voted by league coaches.

The Bears, who won one game at the recently-held State Volleyball Championships in Denver, finished second in the league standings regular season and finished second in both the District III and Region C Volleyball Tournaments. Dolores finished with a sparkling 23-8 overall record. Telluride came into the state tourney with a 22-2 mark but folded in the big event. Mancos, which went to Regionals a year ago but finished third in league this year, had one each on First, Second and Honorable Mention teams.

Telluride, which dominated league and won district and regional titles, was wiped out at State. But the Miners still had the most honorees.

The two First Team players from Dolores are senior Amanda Cross and junior Tracy Everett. Telluride landed senior Sydney Melzer, junior Inga Johannson, and junior Chelsey Padilla. Senior Katie Paxton of Mancos was the other First Team member.

Junior Sarah Nielson of Dolores is on the Second Team. Senior Catherine Arnold and junior Rhea DePagter, both of Telluride, are on the list. Senior Katie Rosso of Mancos, sophomore Shandra Johnson of Dolores County, and senior Valerie Eickhoff of Nucla are other honorees.

A full honorable mention squad was named. Senior Ashley Smith of Dolores, junior Jori Yeomans of Mancos, junior Kimber Hall of Telluride, junior Amber Roebuck of Nucla, and soph Beverly Eickhoff of Nucla are all on that team.

Player of the Year is Melzer while Ian Evans of Telluride is the Coach of the Year.
