THE FOUNDATION for
the new starting gate has been poured. The long-awaited Cortez
Bicycle Moto-Cross Track, located near Parque de Vida on Empire
Road, will be open this Sunday for the first-ever American
Bicycle Association-sanctioned races. The races will take place
at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. A long signup period will
be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Riders interested in participating
must have an American Bicycle Association membership. The cost
is $25 for 30 days or $45 for a full year (to date of purchase).
Those interested will also need to bring a parent or guardian
along to sign release form. Riders should bring a helmet and
have pads on their bike. They need to wear long-sleeved shirt,
long paints and no open-toed shoes. |
