Cortez Cultural Center’s "Give It A Shot" fund-raiser will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., today, Nov. 10, at the South 40 Driving Range (25500 County Road H, east of the McElmo Canyon Bridge across from Best Log Industries).

Events and contests for all ages included longest drive, straightest drive, chipping and putting with men’s, women’s and kids’ divisions. Entry fee is $2 per event, or $6 for all four. Contest prizes include Wal-Mart gift cards, copies of the CD, "From the Four Corners," featuring local musicians, and various door prizes.

The Pledges by the Yard golf drive-a-thon has no entry fee. Participants can pick up pledge sheets at the Cortez Cultural center, 25 N. Market, or fax or mail them in. Anyone bringing in more than $250 in cash donations will receive a gift certificate worth $25 from the center’s gift shop.

Come enjoy food, fun and family excitement. All new members of the center will receive a complementary copy of "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," by Steve Covey ($24 value).
