Panther seniors to play final home football game

Several Panthers will play their final home varsity football game at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 27, against Battle Mountain in a Class 3A Western Slope League contest at Panther Stadium.

The seniors include: quarterback-runningback and linebacker Kevin Wayman, wide receiver-defensive back P.J. James, runningback Devin Sena, wideout and defensive back Travis Spruell, wide receiver and linebacker Kyle Doudy, linebacker Carlos Martinez, wideout and linebacker Gabe Evans, linebacker A.J. Herrmann, lineman Keve Goodall, lineman-placekicker Colin Tansey, lineman Jason Lindhorst, lineman Elias Lehi, lineman Derique Duran, lineman Andrew Duncan, lineman Richard Berger, wide receiver-defensive back Levi Hill, defensive back Daniel Gonzales, and defensive back Morgan Oliver.

Montezuma-Cortez High School, 1-8 overall, will visit Moffat County on Nov. 3 to end the season.

Another big game will be today in Dove Creek. Dolores County will play its final regular-season and Class A San Juan Basin League game against Nucla. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Weber Park Field. A win will put the Bulldogs into post-season play as the no. 2 seed. DCHS seniors playing their final home game include quarterback Keith Pierce, fullback Bru Meyer, linebacker Lyle Joe, receiver Dallas Coker, lineman James Smith, receiver Casey Spitzer, runningback Darin Retherford, receiver Kyle Riddell, and receiver Brandan Donelow.
