Ed Cullington of Cortez has a secret way to find out
which team to pick each week for the Cortez Journal’s National
Football League weekly contest. He won the contest for the fourth week
of the season.
"I have a friend of mine, actually a co-worker,
in Durango who is sharp. He’s very knowledgable and he helps me out.
He plays the contest in the Durango Herald and has done well. I consult
him," he said.
But Cullington says that he also does quite a bit of
research.
"I check out the Internet. I look at the odds
and some statistics. I have been a pro football fan for as long as I can
remember," he added.
Cullington has played the contest last year a few
times but this year’s has been playing more consistently. He said he
wants to win it ($50) again. Prognosticators are reminded to print
plainly on their entry forms. To be eligible, all the advertiser
information must be correct as well or the entry is thrown out. Another
contest will appear in Tuesday’s paper.
