Eli Tomac places at motocross races

Bringing home some tall trophies

ELI TOMAC's parents are going to have to build him a larger trophy case. Tomac placed in several events at two Motorcycle Motocross races in Texas recently. Tomac, who lives with his parents in McElmo Canyon, has been riding competitively for several years now.

His father, John Tomac, is a world-renowned professional mountain bike racer. He has competed and done well in many World Cup races during his career. And his son, Eli, is now making a name for himself in the field of motocross motorcycle racing.

Young Tomac of the McElmo Canyon area recently competed at two racing events in Texas.

At the Grand National Championship Motocross at Mosier Valley March 15-18, Tomac captured three seconds and a fourth. He finished second in the 50cc 7-8 year olds modified. He finished second in the 65cc six-eight year olds Modified. He finished second in the 65cc 6 year old Stock. He placed fourth in the 50cc 7-8-year-old Stock.

At the Lake Whitney Spring National, held March 9-11, he captured first place in the 50cc 4-8-year-olds Open. He came in eighth in the 50cc 4-8-year-olds Stock and he grabbed eighth in the 7-9-year-olds 65cc Modified. He also placed ninth in the 7-9-year-olds Stock.

He will race several times this summer at the Wild Wild Rest Motocross Track and race throughout the Four Corners area in many more events.
