THE CORTEZ MIDDLE SCHOOL A girls basketball
team captured the San Juan League Championship by winning two
tournament wins (37-20 over Pagosa Springs and 52-37 over
Ignacio) recently. They went undefeated during the regular
season under coach Terry Wells. Members of the team are
(standing, left to right): Darshina Benally, Baylee Underwood,
Brittney Whiteman, Elaine Yench, Callie Carver, Natalie Johnson,
