Oct. 17, 2000 The Four States Junior Rodeo Series will be starting up with the first one set for Oct. 28-29 at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds. The events will start at 9 a.m. each day. A few changes have been made this year. The 9-11, 12-14, and 15-19 age groups will compete on Saturdays. The 5-and-under and 6-8 age groups will compete on Sundays. This is a change from last year. This is the fifth anniversary of the saddle series. A contestant must compete in four out of the five rodeos in order to qualify for the end-of-year awards. The other dates are Nov. 18-19, Dec. 16-17, Jan. 20-21, and Feb. 10-11. Another change is that a rodeo has been added to December and there will be only one rodeo in February instead of two.
