Bucky Sparks of Cortez and his Tennessee Walking Horse mare, Coin’s Hot Topic (also known as Roxy), walked to the High Point Championship at the recently-held Colorado State Fair in Pueblo. Roxy bested all the walking horses there in a class of Grand Champions earning herself the title of "Champion of Champions." Sparks and Roxy also competed at the North America Pleasure Walking Horse Championship in Denver in mid-September. They placed fifth in the Amateur to Ride Trail Pleasure 2 Gait Championship Class. They competed against some outstanding horses and riders from Tennessee, Missouri, and California and placed third in Qualifying Class. The Sparks are holding an Open Barn at their Walking The Dog Ranch, 1817 County Road 22 on Sunday, Oct. 8. The event will be from 1-4 p.m. Cake will be served to celebrate their success.
