Oct. 5, 2000 Cortez Journal That $50 check is a nice prize to the top pro football prognosticator. Cortez Journal gives away money each week to the person who correctly picks the most games. But the teams which should win against a particular opponent often don’t follow the script. Locals would like nothing more than to see Luther Elliss’ Detroit Lions win but they haven’t been lately. Green Bay seemingly has fallen on tough times. Carolina came up short this past week. Dallas and Washington both won in overtime. And many Coloradans love to go with their hearts and pick Denver, which lost again. All in all, none of the prognosticators who participated this week did all that well. Fred Williams of Dolores was 9-4 and was this week’s winner. He won the tiebreaker by being the closest to the actual score between Kansas City and Seattle. Here’s how the others fared: Pat Talcott 9-4; Margi Puls 9-4; Joe Martinez 9-4; Dee Fosnot 9-4; Bob Clifton 8-5; Missy Valdez 8-5; Kent Slyter 8-5; Roger Nelson 8-5; Paul Bostrom 8-5; Judy Ashton 8-5; Larry Benally 8-5; Kathy Maestas 8-5; Esther Puls 8-5; Sandy Brown 8-5; Gary Gnas 8-5; James Maestas 8-5; Charlie Pillegard 8-5; Don Schlotfelt 8-5; Darrell Mott 8-5; Dan Williams 8-5; Lois Borelli 5-8; Erick Ashton 8-5; Dale Livingston 7-6; Mark Vanderpool 7-6; Don Puls 7-6; Trevor Welch 7-6; Chester Rowe 7-6; Tony Todd 7-6; Lil Bostrom 7-6; Lee Brown 7-6; Gaylord Lyman 7-6; Richard Yake 7-6; Dale Livingston 7-6; Kathy Talcott 7-6; Todd Plewe 6-7; Dean Valdez 6-7; Charles Johnson 6-7; Chet Bankert 6-7; Kelly Turner 6-7; Wanda Graves 6-7; Roger Walkenhorst 6-7; Del Borelli 6-7; Al Rivera 6-7; Heather Nowlin 6-7; Dale Peterman 6-7; Luisa Stiegelmeyer 6-7; Lori Ledford 6-7; Vickie Scharnhorst 6-7; Annie Brake 6-7; Corby Actierno 6-7; Corinne Dougan 6-7; Lonnie Huff 6-7; MaryAnn Wall 6-7; Lloyd Lobato 5-8; Samantha Sunseri 5-8; Billy Steele 5-8; Angelo Topaha 5-8. |
