SW Showdown Jr. Rodeo ends season with awards

The Southwest Showdown Junior Rodeo recently held its 2000 Series Awards ceremony.

The age 2-3 Girls top overall placers were Brenna Leonard first, Whitney Finely second, Tegan Woosley third, and Shavargus Noyes fourth. The winner received a buckle, sponsored by House of Carpets. The 2-3 Boys top overall finishers were Beau Garza, Brian Romine, Jay Daves, and Tyler Hageman. The buckle was sponsored by Liquid Assets.

The 4-5 Girls Stickhorse Race winner was Cydney McHenry. Her buckle was sponsored by Schmalz Construction. The Boys 4-5 Stickhorse Race winners were Taylor Lindsley and Justin White. The buckle was sponsored by Tips to Toes.

The 4-5 Girls Saddle final series placers were Tana Show, first; Cydney McHenry, second; Shelby Caughey, third; Kacey Shurr, fourth; Baylee Lindsley, fifth; Tabor Woosley, sixth; Elisabeth Hoch, seventh; Ashley Romine, eighth; and Taylor Presnell, ninth. The saddle was sponsored by Gordy’s Family Restaurant.

The 4-5 Boys Saddle placers were Justin White, first; Levi Noyes, second; Taylor Lindsley, third; Logan Hindmarsh, fourth; Baylen Garza, fifth; and Dillon Daves, sixth. The saddle was sponsored by Mancos Redi-Mix.

The 6-8 Girls Saddle placers were Tawnee Woosley, first; Kayleigh Kimball, second; Katygene Jackson and Jordan McHenry, third; Kacia Show, fourth; Jana Baker, fifth; Krista Rieb, sixth; Toni White, seventh; Bailey Schurr, eighth; Rita Trienen, ninth; and Shae Green, 10th. Participations awards were presented to Kayla Jackson, Colleen Palmer, and Jessica Daves. The saddle was sponsored by Ute Mountain Casino.

The 6-8 Boys Saddle finishers were Garrett Presnell, first; Austin Norris and Dustin Goodall, second; Tee Baker, third; and Stephen Candelaria, fourth. The saddle was sponsored by Precision DryWall and MFE West and Hey Hay Ladies.

The 9-12 Girls Saddle placers were Joetta Lytle, first; Kayle Dennison, second; Jessica Norris, third; Ashley Goodall, fourth; Kady Meyer, fifth; Jacqueline Candelaria, sixth; Katarina Deswood, seventh; Chelsea Rosas, eighth; AnnaMarie Carter, ninth; and Lindsey Deswood, 10th. The saddle was sponsored by Nielsons Inc. and Hindmarsh Trucking.

The 9-12 Boys Saddle finishers were Bradley Dennison, first; Roessel Jackson, second; Dalton Hindmarsh, third; Cody Meyer, fourth; and Randy Wright, fifth. The saddle was sponsored by Mesa Verde Kiwanis and In Memory of Janet Caughey.

The 13-17 Girls Saddle finishers were Kayla Goode, first; Melissa Linscott, second; Mary Hoch, third; Marie Hoch, fourth; Rae Buffington and Kristyn Calhoon, fifth; Holly Buffington, sixth; and Hayley Howell, seventh. The saddle was sponsored by Rocky Mountain Seamless Gutter and Southwest Lifeguard.

The 13-17 Boys Saddle placers were J.W. Goode, first; Ryan Buffington, second; Bradly Apple, third; and Gifford Deswood, fourth. The saddle was sponsored by Navajo Butane and Redburn’s Flying R Ranch.
