SW Softball Assoc. sets meeting

The Southwest Softball Association will be holding an end-of-the-year meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the Calvin Denton Room at Empire Electric. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

All coaches need to attend in order to turn in equipment. Anyone interested in next year’s season is encouraged to attend.

 

MCHS Cheer Clinic set Sept. 18-22

The Montezuma-Cortez High School Cheerleaders are sponsoring its annual PeeWee Cheer Clinic this coming Monday-Friday, Sept. 18-22.

The clinic will run after school from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. each of those days. The cost is $20 per child (in grades 1-8) and it includes a tee shirt. Participants will then be invited to perform at the football game between the Panthers and Rifle at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22.

Students can pick up a registration form at their own school or at the clinic before it starts on Monday.

Race for the Rock Run slated

SHIPROCK, N.M. — The annual Race for the Rock 10-kilometer run, being held in conjunction with the 2000 Northern Navajo Fair, is set for Oct. 5.

Entry forms and registration will be taken at the Shiprock Department of Youth/Community Services office. The race will begin at the east side of the Shiprock High School Gymnasium at 3 p.m. on the day of the race. Fees are $15, if received by the DYCS office by 4 p.m. Oct. 4, otherwise they are $18, including day of the race.
