Sept. 12, 2000

The Hi Altitude Steel Car Club of Cortez held its seventh annual Fun Run Shine and Show at Cortez City Park on Saturday, Sept. 9.

"It was a good show," organizer Frosty Martin commented. "We had 76 entries although mainly from Cortez. But we had some entries from Farmington and Durango."

The Shine and Show, which was held in early June in past years but moved because of a show held Memorial Day Weekend at Ute Mountain Casino. The weather cooperated and many people from throughout the area came to look at cars and listen to 1950s-60s Rock-N-Roll blaring from speakers.
