Salisbury leads standings for Cortez Bass Masters

After the first two tournaments of the season, Jay Salisbury is in first place in the standings of the Cortez Bass Masters.

Salisbury, who hails from Aztec, N.M., but a member of the local club, is the returning Angler of the Year (2001). Barry Stanley, of Flora Vista, N.M., is holding down second. Jonny Johnson from Farmington is in third.

The first two meets were held at Morgan Lake in Upper Fruitland, N.M. (near Kirtland at the Four Corners Power Plant) in November and December.

The remainder of the schedule for 2002 has been set. The next points tournament will be held at Navajo Lake on April 7.

Anyone interested in the club can contact president Len Hartley at 565-1593 or tournament director Russell Crites at 565-6332. The club meets at the Dry Dock Restaurant in Cortez every third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
