COLORADO SPRINGS — Casey Hill, a 5-foot-11 senior post from Mancos, received All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division Honorable Mention honors for her play during the 1999-2000 women’s basketball season at Fort Lewis College.

Hill, despite missing eight games during the middle portion of the season because of a stress fracture in her leg, averaged 6.4 points per game and 4.4 rebounds.

"It’s a great honor for Casey," second-year FLC skipper Jeff Goldstein said. "She was rewarded for her leadership, which is both exemplary and much appreciated. Even when she was hurt for a lot of the season, she was still leading the team."

Hill played for the Skyhawks for the past three years. She lettered as a junior and a senior after walking on. She was a starter for most of the 1999-2000 season moving from power forward to center after a player left the team. She ranks 22nd in FLC history in career three-pointers with 12.

Hill was the only senior on the team. Teammate 5-9 sophomore Amanda Widner of Hotchkiss was named to the post-season All-RMAC Second Team.

Casey is majoring in education at FLC and plans to teach and coach at the secondary level.

Her sister, Cara, is a starting off-guard for the Skyhawks who finished with a disappointing 3-23 record.

Casey and Cara are the daughters of Gary and Glenda Hill of Mancos.
