Report released on minerals in Montezuma, Dolores counties

The Colorado Geological Survey has released a new report that contains studies of the mineral resources of Montezuma and Dolores counties.

The report is one in a series that inventories and evaluates the mineral and mineral-fuel resource potential of the 4 million acres of state lands administered by the State Land Board.

The report, in CD-ROM format, includes a general summary of the geology and mineral potential of the two counties along with maps of tract locations, oil and gas tests, and mineral prospects. The main body of the report contains evaluations of individual tracts.

The publications contain information useful to individuals and commercial entities as well as local, state, and federal agencies. Copies of the reports are available from the Colorado Geological Survey for $15 plus shipping and handling.
