In a move that is expected to benefit both companies, SuBee Enterprises, a web development company, has become a division of Fone.Net.

Fone.Net is a full-service Internet service company headquartered in Cortez. Fone.Net started in Cortez four years ago "and spread around the state," according to Fone.Net’s Melinda Green. Fone.Net is owned by independent phone companies, and will be adding three new partners this year.

SuBee, operated by Sue Claussen and Leila Parga, is also based in Cortez. The business designs, publishes and hosts web pages. SuBee provides a full spectrum of services, including helping customers with the concept of the web page, original graphic creation, scanning photos, log design and publishing the page, and listing the web site with search engines. It also helps customers maintain their sites once the page is posted.

"Adding SuBee was a natural step for Fone.Net as a full-service Internet company," Green said.

Fone.Net Manager Dallas Parga said in a news release that his company sought the merger because "we are always adding value for our customers...SuBee’s creative talents and expertise will support and aid our customers to fully realize the potential of the Internet."

Leila Parga concurred with Parga. "Combining our companies will better enable us to offer more services to our clients. We have always emphasized personal service for our customers. If they are too busy to come to our office, we will go to them."

Parga also added that SuBee works with customers to determine what sort of web pages are desired, and then creates those pages. Staff is currently being added to SuBee to further aid its customer base.

Service is not the only thing that has been expanded at Fone.Net. The company recently moved part of its operations to 2 West Main (formerly Wilson’s Pharmacy). The move allows for the company to have more space, and for SuBee Enterprises to have an office. Additionally, Farmer’s Phone company will have a downtown office in the same building.

SuBee Enterprises can be reached at 565-8531 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The company’s work can be viewed at http://www.subee.com

Fone.Net can still be reached at 564-1824, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Extended technical support hours are offered from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
