Dec. 23, 2000 The proposed 2001 budget for the Mancos Public Library will support increased services to the Mancos Valley. An increase of $20,500 (13.8 percent) over the estimated 2000 income will add to the amount budgeted for wages and benefits associated with the extended hours implemented this year. The book-buying program will increase $3,600 (60 percent) to $9,600 in 2001, and there will be more money for subscriptions. Supplies for programs and other needs will increase by $575, enabling the library to care on the very popular afternoon storytelling programs and other special activities such as the recent Holiday Festival of crafts and storytelling. Increased amounts are allocated for computer support and staff training, and funds for renovation and expansion of the library itself will go from $15,000 in 2000 to $19,000 in 2001. |
