LOCAL OFFICIALS and citizens
dig into the sod at a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning
marking the start of construction on an expansion of the Welcome
Center in Cortez’s Centennial Park. The citizens who helped
dig were Jim Herrick, Rick Smith, Slim McWilliams, Frank Hensen,
Lynn Dyer, Kristine Acott, Bill Rutledge, Dan Avery, Bill Argo,
Hal Shepherd, P.G. West, Fred Torres, Dean Brookie, Kent Lindsay
and Mike Bauer.
