| AN UNIDENTIFIED Cortez police
officer watches as firefighters battle a hay-bale fire in the
7500 block of Highway 666 on Wednesday afternoon. The Cortez,
Dolores and Lewis-Arriola fire departments responded to the
scene. According to reports, the blaze scorched roughly 7,500
bales of hay before it was extinguished after a nine-hour fight.
The cause of the fire is still unknown; however, spontaneous
combustion has not been ruled out. |
