Moore's Art

Jeremy Moore’s acrylic painting entitled "Boy in Sunflower Field" won a Silver Award at the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. His painting will hang at the esteemed Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. Moore is a senior at Montezuma-Cortez High School and is planning on majoring in art after graduation. Both Moore and his visual arts teacher, Kimberley Sheek, have been invited to attend the Scholastic Art and Writing National Awards Ceremony, which is being held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on June 17th.

Moore was honored earlier this year at the Colorado Scholastics Art Show, where he won a Gold Key Portfolio Award. Only seven gold key portfolios were selected and sent to New York for judging at the national level. He was also awarded an American Visions Nomination. His painting was one of five pieces selected as the premier student artworks created this year from throughout Colorado.
