March 14, 2000 By Matt Gleckman It took years of self-serve car washes before somebody came up with the idea for a self-serve pet wash; however, Ken and Tina Saunders have jumped on the concept with the opening of their new business, K & T Animal Board and Bath. "You do the work and we clean up the mess," Ken Saunders says of the self-serve station. For varying prices, pet owners can make use of the self-service tub, towel, shampoo, dryer, brushes, combs, nail clippers and disposable aprons. Located at 25628 County Road L in Cortez, the business also provides full service grooming and dog and cat boarding. The building is equipped with indoor/outdoor runs, in floor heat, separate exercise areas for large and small dogs, cat kennels with individual outside windows and some kennels set up for double occupancy. Introductory specials include money off on bathing, grooming and dog boarding. K & T Animal Board & Bath is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
