Feb. 5, 2000 State Rep. Mark Larson (R-Cortez) apparently will be announcing his bid for re-election to a second term today from various locations around the 59th District. Larson will attend the annual meeting of the Southwest Colorado Livestock Association at the Elks Club in Cortez from 10 a.m. until noon to discuss upcoming legislative issues, according to a press release from Citizens for Mark Larson, and will attend the Lincoln Day Dinner sponsored by the Montezuma County Republicans at the American Legion Hall this evening. In between, Larson will travel to Durango to "make an announcement" on the steps of the La Plata County Courthouse" at 2 p.m., the release said. Larson serves as Vice Chairman of the House Transportation Committee and as a member of the Capital Development and Business Affairs and Labor committees. He also chaired an interim committee that explored oil and gas issues last summer. |
