County's web site up and running

December 27, 2001

Log on, Montezuma County!

Citizens now have direct access to a plethora of public information at the new county web site, located at www.co.montezuma.co.us .

The site is a work in progress, so not all department pages are built yet, but it is well worth a visit.

Web-surfers can choose from a menu that features general information, a calendar of events, sites for elected officials and different departments, current topics and related links.

Especially handy is access to the data bases of the assessor and the clerk and recorder. Property values, history and current and previous owners of individual properties can be found, as well as mill-levy information.

The planning and mapping site is informative. It features, among other data, the county’s comprehensive plan, the Landowner-Initiated Zoning process and the land-use code.

Also, there is an e-mail list for county and federal employees.

The site has direct links to the State of Colorado, the towns of Cortez, Mancos and Dolores, Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, the Ute Mountain Ute tribe, the San Juan National Forest, the BLM, Region 9 Economic Develop-ment, Census 2000 and current Dolores River flows.
