December 6, 2001 A public meeting to discuss environmental concerns associated with mercury-contaminated fish in McPhee and Narraguinnep reservoirs will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside. It will not be held at the Dolores Town Hall, as was previously indicated. At the meeting, representatives from TetraTech (environmental consultants), the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment will discuss the basis for the fish-consumption advisories that have been issued for the reservoirs, the effects of mercury in the environment, and the results of a study designed to assess the loading of mercury into the reservoirs. |
