Cotton candy for a cause

CANDACE CAHALL, a fifth-grader at Mesa Elementary, serves up cotton candy last week during parent-teacher conferences. The student council was selling snacks at the conferences to raise money for the Child Advocacy Center., and made $166. The council is also selling American flags as part of an ongoing effort to raise money for the White House Afghanistan Children’s Fund and has raised about $200 so far.
