Teens injured in wreck still serious

Two teenagers critically injured in a two-car collision Tuesday evening remained in serious condition Friday afternoon at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Mitchell Leber, 19, of Cortez, and Daniel Leber, 17, of Los Lunas, N.M., both suffered multiple injuries in the wreck that took the lives of two of their friends.

The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Quinnett, 18, and another passenger Cassie Blair, 18, died of massive head and chest injuries, according to the State Patrol.

According to the report, Quinnett’s car sped through a stop sign at the intersection of county roads 29 and M and collided with another vehicle.

Daniel Leber suffered head injuries, broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, and a fractured left leg.

Mitchell Leber, sustained severe head injuries.
