Music in the Mountains going strong at Durango Mountain Resort

Music in the Mountains, a classical concert series at Durango Mountain Resort, will run from now until Aug. 5, with the popular Pops Night dinner concert to take place on July 25.

July 19: Festival Orchestra, Purgatory Village festival tent, 7:30 p.m.; features Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi.

July 20: Festival Orchestra, festival tent, 7:30 p.m.; features Bach, Mozart, Prokofiev and two Chinese folk pieces for erhu.

July 21: Family Festivo, a free program, Rotary Park, 11 a.m.; features Prokofiev, Peter and the Wolf, by the Festival Orchestra and Children’s Repertory Theater. At 5 p.m., the Conservatory Young Artists will perform "Music to the Ears" at Fort Lewis College’s Roshong Recital Hall.

July 22: Conservatory Music Album and Instrument Expo, free program, Durango Arts Center; also "Carnival of Animals," 1 p.m. At 5 p.m., the Festival Orchestra will perform selections from Beethoven, Bach and Saint Saens at the Purgatory Village festival tent.

July 24: Festival Chamber Music, festival tent, 7:30 p.m.

July 25: Pops Night dinner concert, festival tent, 7 p.m.; features "A Taste of Broadway" and "Brilliant Brass."

July 26: Festival Orchestra, festival tent, 7:30 p.m.; features Rossini, Schubert, Rodrigo and DeFalla.

July 27: Conservatory Orchestra Gala, FLC Community Concert Hall, 7:30 p.m.

July 28: Festival Orchestra, FLC Community Concert Hall; 5 p.m.; features Mozart and Beethoven.

July 29: Festival Orchestra, festival tent, 5 p.m.; features Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.

July 30: Conservatory Faculty, Roshong Hall, "Fun with Fomin," 7:30 p.m.

July 31, Festival Chamber Music, festival tent, 7:30 p.m.; features Brahms and Schubert

Aug. 1: Conservatory Faculty, Roshong Hall, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 3: Conservatory Young Artists, Roshong Hall, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 4: Festival Chamber Music, festival tent, Smetana Trio, 5 p.m.

Aug. 5: Festival Chamber Music, festival tent, 5 p.m.; features Mozart and Brahms
