May 24, 2001 As part of the Iron County, Utah sesquicentennial celebration, county residents Chris and Karen Gale and Ree Zaphiropoulos sponsor a five-day wagon train from Fillmore to Cedar City July 24 through 28. The wagon train is open to everyone, and individuals may participate for just one or up to all five days of this event. "This wagon train is intended to offer individuals a taste of what it was like to travel as the pioneers did and learn about hardships they faced," said Gale. The cost to participate in the wagon train is $15 per person, per day. The fee for horseback riders bringing their own horse is $5 per day. To keep costs down, participants are required to bring food for themselves and their animals. The application deadline is June 15. For more information or to receive a registration form, contact the Iron County Wagon Train, c/o Chris and Karen Gale, 1876 West 546 South in Cedar City, UT 84720, or e-mail galefam@color-country.net. |
