FIREFIGHTERS FROM the
Pleasant View Fire Department, assisted by the Lewis-Arriola
Fire Department, extinguish hot spots in the remains of a small
house near the main dwelling at the intersection of U.S. Highway
666 and Road 17 late Wednesday morning. A faulty heater sparked
the blaze, according to Montezuma County Sheriff’s Deputy Hugh
Richards. None of the three persons who lived in the home were
in it at the time and no one was injured. However, the structure
and the belongings inside were destroyed. Ten firefighters from
Pleasant View and four from Lewis-Arriola battled the blaze,
said Pleasant View Fire Chief Jeff Yoder, who said the home was
"fully engulfed" when he arrived. |
