THE PARKING LOT at the
newly opened Safeway in Cortez was full most of the day as area
shoppers flocked in for bargains and free food samples. The
store opened at 6 a.m. Wednesday; Thomas Heidelberg of Cortez
was reportedly the first shopper in the doors.
